As Houston and other communities recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey and as we in Los Angeles cope with a heat wave of 100+ degree heat, I'm launching my long-planned Web site and hoping that I can provide interesting information to readers.

As the sole writer and designer of this Web site, based on templates from Wix.com, I've taken longer than anticipated in launching www.bobladendorf.com and plan to keep it active and informative. As this is my first venture (adventure?) into managing a Web site, I appreciate your patience as I work through the inevitable glitches.

For a few weeks, my blog will appear once a week, most likely, and then every day or two after that. I will always welcome suggestions for improving this Web site and appreciate any CIVIL comments about my opinions, article suggestions, or other comments. I also plan to include photos as necessary. In addition, I will continually update the other pages in this Web site, so I hope you come back often!

Speaking of photos, I wanted to mention the passing of a wonderful photographer in Madison, Wisconsin, recently. Peter Patau took terrific landscape photos that he put on Facebook. I knew Peter years ago in Madison when my then-wife, Jean, was an assistant to him as he edited a credit union magazine and I was in graduate school. He sometimes used me as a model for his magazine covers or article pages, using me as in a comedic way to illustrate his articles! I hope his family publishes those photos in a book.

Because I will be using my Web site to post a lot of articles of interest, I will now post on Facebook mostly photos and news about my family and friends. See you back here soon!
